Accounts and access

On a Nomad Appliance or Enthusiast system, Sensa sets up a small set of logins so the right people can do the right things. This page does not apply to a DIY install, where you keep your own Home Assistant admin account.

The logins

  • admin. Your main account, and the one with the keys. From here you can reach Settings, change the passwords for the other logins, restart or reboot the system, set the units, time zone and location, choose the theme, and manage updates and backups.
  • hab, cab and mobile. Everyday logins for the tablets around your van (for example one in the habitation area, one in the cab, and your phone). They see the day-to-day dashboards (Habitation, Cab, Mobile and Intelligence) but not Settings, and they cannot change how the system is configured.

There is also a hidden Sensa support login. It exists only so we can help you if you ask us to, and its password is never shared.

Kiosk mode

The everyday logins run in kiosk mode. The Home Assistant sidebar and its developer and configuration tools are hidden, so a tablet on the wall stays on the Sensa screens and cannot be poked into places it should not go. This lock-down is built into the appliance image; a DIY install is never changed in this way.

Choosing the look

The admin login can pick a theme that applies to everyone. Choose it in Settings, under System. If you bought through a dealer, their theme may also be available to you.
