Where the information comes from

Radar gathers what it shows from many trusted sources at once, and merges them so the same petrol station or pharmacy never appears twice. You can see the live list, and choose which sources to include, on the Data sources page in the app.

What Radar draws on

• Community-mapped places: the huge, open, community-maintained map of the world that covers just about every category, from campsites to postboxes.
• Live fuel prices: official UK forecourt prices, updated through the day.
• Public toilets: a national toilet map, including accessibility details.
• EV charging: charge points and which networks they belong to.
• Launderettes and LPG / Autogas stations.
• Food-hygiene ratings: the official rating for restaurants, cafes, pubs, and shops.
• Cash machines from the major banks.
• NHS services: pharmacies, dentists, and hospitals.
• MOT centres, and the vehicle classes each one tests.
• Parks and green spaces, and public libraries.
• Bathing-water quality at designated swimming spots.
• Live flood warnings.
• Road restrictions on major roads, such as low bridges and weight limits.

All of the above is free.

Google Places

Google Places is the one Premium source. Radar uses it to fill in the gaps where the free community and public sources are thin. See Accounts & Premium.
