Radar 2.0 brings your Radar account together with your Sensa account, so there is one login across everything and no separate Radar password to remember. It also adds a light and dark look for the app, with an automatic mode that follows sunrise and sunset where you are.

One Sensa account​

The biggest change in 2.0 is how you sign in. Your Radar account is now simply your Sensa account, the same identity you use everywhere else with Sensa.

• Sign in with your Sensa account. A new sign-in sets up your Radar and Sensa accounts together, so there is nothing separate to create.
• No separate Radar password. There is no Radar-only password to remember or reset. If you can sign in to Sensa, you can sign in to Radar.
• Nomad vans still sign in with their licence as before.

As always, you do not need an account at all to use Radar. Everything core works signed out, with your preferences kept on your device. Signing in is what makes your saved places and settings follow you across devices. See Accounts & Premium.

Light and dark mode​

Radar now comes in a light look and a dark look, and you choose which you see under Settings, then Appearance.

• Light or Dark all the time, whichever you prefer.
• Auto follows sunrise and sunset where you are, so Radar is light through the day and switches to dark in the evening on its own.
• The map follows too, switching to a darker style in the dark look so the whole screen stays easy to read at night.

Your choice takes effect straight away, and when you are signed in it follows you across your devices. See Light & dark mode.

Tracking​

The journey history for Nomad vans is now called Tracking. It records where your van has been so you can look back at your journeys on a map, it comes with your Nomad van, it is free, and it stays off until you turn it on. You can view your journeys in the mySensa portal, export them, and delete them at any time. See Tracking.

A note on offline maps​

Offline map packs are still planned as a Premium feature and will arrive with the native mobile app. They are not available yet on any platform.

Radar 1.3.2 makes route planning quicker and clearer. Your saved places now come up as you type a start, destination or stop, the plan panel keeps out of your way, and services along the route are easier to show, hide and read, fuel prices included.

New in 1.3.2​

• Find your saved places by name while planning. Start typing into the start, destination or stop boxes and Radar suggests your matching saved places, so any spot you have saved is a tap away, not just Home and Work. Pick one and Radar uses that exact place; type anything else and it is looked up as before. See Routing & your vehicle.
• Move the plan panel out of the way. The route panel can now be dragged aside if it sits over part of your route, and closed with the × in its corner.
• Show, refresh and remove services along the route. Choose the kinds of service you want (fuel, aires, parking, toilets), show them on the route, refresh them, and remove them again when you are done.
• Fuel prices at a glance. Tap a fuel stop found along your route to see all of its prices, and add it to your route as a stop from there.

Fixes​

• Tidied the along-route service popup so its text and button no longer sit against the edge, and it now opens clear of the plan panel instead of behind it.

Radar 1.3 lets you save any point on the map, not just the places Radar already lists. Right-click on a computer, or press and hold on a touch screen, and a pin drops with a Save box ready to fill in.

New in 1.3​

• Drop a pin to save any spot. Right-click the map on a computer, or press and hold on a touch screen, to save a point Radar does not list, such as a quiet layby, a gate, or a viewpoint. A pin drops with a Save box: the address is filled in for you, you give it a name, pick a category if you like, and save. It then behaves like any other saved place. You need to be signed in to save a dropped pin. See Saved places.

Bug fixes​

• Tidied up the Save box that appears when you drop a pin, so its contents no longer sit flush against the edges.

Radar 1.2 is the first full release after the beta series. It brings together everything built during the betas, finding places, planning routes, trip mode, saved places, and community contributions, and adds the changes below.

New in 1.2​

• Worldwide search is now free. Looking for places anywhere in the world no longer needs Premium.
• Live fuel prices are free, and shown correctly. Prices now display properly on every screen.
• Vehicle-aware routing is now Premium. Plain A-to-B routing with turn-by-turn directions stays free for everyone.
• Sign in with your Sensa account. Use the same Sensa account you use elsewhere, set up alongside your Radar account in one step.
• The tiers are now called Base (free) and Premium.

Everything in Radar​

Finding places​

• Search near a postcode or your location, with an adjustable radius from half a mile up to 60 miles.
• 30+ amenity categories across eight groups, from fuel and toilets to campsites and pharmacies.
• Results ranked nearest-first, with filters by category and by source.
• Rich detail on each result: live fuel prices, food-hygiene ratings, EV connector types, and parking limits.

Routing​

• Plan an A-to-B route with turn-by-turn directions, free and without an account.
• Set your start, destination, and up to eight stops by tapping the map, typing a postcode, or picking a saved place.
• Add any place to your route as a stop straight from its popup.
• See the elevation and gradient of the route, with steep sections marked.
• With Premium, the vehicle profile routes around low bridges and weight, width, and length limits, checks whether you fit at parking and overnight stops, and avoids gradients steeper than your chosen limit.

Trip mode​

• Press Start to enter live navigation: the map follows you, with a distance and time countdown and a next-turn banner.
• Optional spoken directions through your device, with a pre-alert before each turn.
• If you come off route, Radar works out a new one automatically, keeping your stops and destination.

Saved places​

• Bookmark any place from its popup, with its category carried across.
• Give each saved place a category, and browse them all on the Saved places page with search and filtering.
• Pin a Home and a Work for one-tap routing.
• Show your saved places as their own map layer, in their category colours.
• Save up to 100 places on Base, or 1,000 on Premium.

Map layers, hazards, and tracking​

• Toggle layers for Places, Hazards, Floods, and your saved places.
• See low bridges and weight, width, and length limits, with a warning banner for restrictions ahead.
• Live flood warnings shaded on the map.
• Follow your own position live, with a heading arrow.

Community contributions​

• Add a place through the public form, no account needed, ready for QR-code business cards.
• Suggest edits to existing places, with owner claims for businesses.
• Leave a quick thumbs up or down on any place.

Accounts​

• Everything core works signed out, with your preferences kept on your device.
• Sign in with an email and password, with your Sensa account, or with a Nomad campervan, to sync your saved places and settings across devices.

Bug fixes​

• Fixed fuel prices that were showing with the decimal point in the wrong place.
• Routes only flag hazards and steep sections that are actually near the final route.
• Route slots show the place name you typed, not raw coordinates.
• Places from sources without an address now show a readable address.
• Saving a bookmark updates your places straight away, with no reload.

Known issues​

• Turn-by-turn banner icons are text-only for now.
• Estimated arrival time is based on the route, without live traffic.
